The Crane's Flight, Peter Čuhalev and ...

The Crane’s Flight is a spatial installation that weaves various media of expression into an organic whole. Out of the origami cranes, an ambient is created and brought to life. Visitors contribute to the development of the installation by creating their own cranes and writing their wishes on them. All the wishes collected later become part of the concluding video. Sensors are used to detect movement of the visitors, upon which an oscillating or flying motion of the cranes is initiated; a play of shadows thus produced becomes part of the video material. The projection thus presents an actual happening coupled with video clips of the making of the cranes and the written-down wishes of the visitors. The Crane’s Flight thus connects the traditional Japanese art of origami and multimedia into a new and organic whole.

Peter Čuhalev is a student of graphic technologies. He uses his time creating in various media.
